The Bulgasari, like the Greek Chimera, is composed of parts from multiple creatures. The body of a bear, the trunk of an elephant, the eyes of a rhinoceros, the claws of a tiger, and the tail of a bull all come together with a voracious appetite for metal which makes it nigh unstoppable. It does appear to have a weakness for fire, however the tales vary as to the effectiveness of using even that minor weakness.
