Resin Care FAQ

Daedalus Studios is proud to use all-clear Siraya Simple resin. Please read the following frequently asked questions and care tips to keep your miniatures and/or terrain in the best condition possible:

Q: Do I need to wash Daedalus miniatures?

No, we make sure each piece is properly washed and cured. If you have questions, please contact us for assistance.

Q: My items feel greasy! Can I wash them to get rid of the greasiness?

A short bath in Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) should do the trick, removing that greasy feeling 3D printed resin tends to have, even after it has been post-processed and cured. After bathing your resin in the Isopropyl Alcohol, leave it to air dry, preferably in a dark, dry and cool place.

DO NOT wash your 3D printed resin in WARM WATER AND SOAP!

Though this method may work with 2-part cured resin, the warm water and soap may cause the resin pieces to crumble and crack.

Q: Which glue should I use for resin pieces?

We recommend SUPERGLUE (cyanoacrylate). For particularly stubborn parts, having a dried layer of superglue on each side may help bond them together. We recommend the gel type superglue for best results.
Please note that PLASTIC GLUE will not work on our minis/terrain.

Q: How should I store my resin miniatures?

Like most collectibles, resin miniatures should be kept in a cool, dry place. They should be out of the sun’s reach.

Resin is cured by UV rays, which are present in sunlight. Our resin pieces are already cured. Prolonged exposure to the sun can result in the resin becoming brittle and at risk of breaking.

Q: What can I use to paint my mini?

Using a paint primer is highly encouraged before you begin to paint your mini. We recommend specifically formulated hobby paints to ensure adhesion to the resin. Simply put, miniature paints work best for your minis!

Q: There’s something wrong with the way my miniature looks. What should I do?

If you find that your miniature isn’t right, please contact us at your earliest convenience with clear photos of the specific item/area that you are concerned about.
